When: Day 5, bright and early in the morning
Where: Labyrinth!
What: A daring labyrinth

[you somehow land into this labyrinth with a hard thud, sending clouds of dust flying everywhere. what you're in now is a stone room that has a flickering torch placed on each wall. it smells a bit dingy in here, like what one might picture an actual labyrinth or dungeon to smell like.

there doesn't actually seem to be much worth investigating in this room, aside from a sign and three old, wooden doors before you. the sign reads:

"If you risk it all, you gain it all. If you risk nothing, you gain nothing."

somehow, very inexplicably so, you get the strange sense that the riskier you play, the better the prize.]

You couldn't build your god a door?

[you're met with a really awkward silence.

"...my god, just take your sacrifice. Please."

with that, the figures all move out of the way so the dragon—with it's long legs, stout body, and oddly pig-like tail—can charge straight towards you.]

I warned you!

[query how resistant are dragons to a ROOM FULL OF LIGHTNING BOLTS cause he is doing that]

[DRAGON IS NOT RESISTANT TO LIGHTNING.

(baby is ok though.)

the now singed and crispy dragon, (leaving the cloaked-figures aghast), flat-out lunges itself at you in a futile struggle to succeed at SOMETHING in its life]

[ducks behind cloaked figures]

[shrill screams ensue. the dragon doesn't care—it throws itself onto the crowd of cloaked figures.]

[covers baby's eyes too]

[skitters for the giant hole in the wall]

[you escape through this giant hole in the wall, which leads you into a long corridor. every step you might take echoes, and the baby seems quite amused by this.

being as this is a corridor, you have two options: left, towards a rumbling sound, or right, towards the fresh smell of laundry.]

Echo, echo, echo~

you approach a doorway opening to the outside. there's no floor, no walls, just a view of the sky and some very fluffy clouds. it's hard to make out what might be at the bottom... but it looks like there's a ladder that leads up and up into the sky past some clouds]

No way but up?

[up the ladder!]

[as you're climbing this ladder, which leads very high up, it begins to wobble and sway]

[KEEPS... GOING...]

[your ladder doesn't give out! hooray! the baby does seem bothered by this development and it begins to cry again

meanwhile, you're approaching a fluffy cloud that seems thick enough to touch.]

We're almost there, it's okay~

[pokes cloud, is cloud climbable]

[cloud is absolutely climbable—there are some colorful lights seen above it, indicating there might be something on top of this cloud, perhaps. oh, and this cloud smells like fresh linen]

Sorry baby, more climbing.

[up the cloud!]

on the cloud, you have what seems to be... a party of sorts! there's a table with cake on it, streamers everywhere, and, of course, pint-sized party guests that kind of look like Pikmin, only they're all light green and they have a single, giant leaf growing out of the top of their head. oh, and on those leaves are little party hats. who could forget that detail, ha.

"Welcome to heav—oh, wait, you look different from what we imagined..."

someone blows on their party horn anyway.]

"Synthia, come on, really?"

then there's a sad little party horn toot. one of the little green plant people approaches you and stares up at you with big, beady eyes. it rubs its hands anxiously.

"Are you a sacrifice, or are you... something that is not a sacrifice?"]

[crouches down closer to tiny plant person level. manners!!]

I'm not a sacrifice. They wanted the baby for a sacrifice but mm... their god got distracted.

[how polite!

you earn a collective gasp—you sure have an ability for making more than one person gasp at a time.

"You overcame the god?!"

with this, every single one of these cute tiny plant people crowds around you, excited and starstruck.]

Well I couldn't just leave the baby to it.

["That's right—you have a baby! It looks really young... Sadly, I don't think heaven is a place for a baby. Not when it isn't actually dead."

"Besides," another says, "I don't think babies can live off a diet of just cake like we do. It'll have to wait a little while before it can do THAT."

everyone else nods in agreement.]

That's right, babies are very fussy eaters.
