Where: Labyrinth!
What: A daring labyrinth

[you somehow land into this labyrinth with a hard thud, sending clouds of dust flying everywhere. what you're in now is a stone room that has a flickering torch placed on each wall. it smells a bit dingy in here, like what one might picture an actual labyrinth or dungeon to smell like.

there doesn't actually seem to be much worth investigating in this room, aside from a sign and three old, wooden doors before you. the sign reads:

"If you risk it all, you gain it all. If you risk nothing, you gain nothing."

somehow, very inexplicably so, you get the strange sense that the riskier you play, the better the prize.]

[rubbages around the trash more for a pen or a broken bit of lead or something]

[you successfully find a broken pencil!]

[writes "HOW?" across one page in big block letters]

[the book immediately flips to a page that reads:

MURDER.

the "ink" is still moist.]

Oh I'm good at that.

["WHO?"]

[after a couple seconds of rapid page flipping:

it conveniently points towards that log tower in the distance]

["OK"]

[heads towards the tower]

[the thunder bellows, and the lighting strikes... nothing in particular, just something in the distance. unsurprisingly, baby doesn't like thunderstorms.

upon approaching the log tower, you can see the many bolts on the door. the doorknob, which is more of a handle, even has chains wrapped around it.

and just in case you can't get the idea, plastered to the door is a sign that says "STAY OUT."]

[MORE FLOATING maybe there's a window up somewhere. exploding the door would upset baby '-'!!!]

[hopefully baby is not alarmed by mao's eye starting to bleed either]

[no windows, unfortunately. whatever's in here is doing its best to keep everyone out. and poor baby pays no mind to the bleeding eye, thought that is alarming]

[covers baby's ears and EXPLODES A HOLE AT THE WALL]

[you successfully create your own entrance.

once inside, you find that this tower is all one floor; it just has an enormous ceiling height. books line the entirety of the walls, like an expansive private library, and since the walls are so tall there's several mobile ladders laying about. in the middle of this room, by a central fireplace, is a sitting area, set up with plush furniture.

..and sitting on one of the plush chairs is a reverse mermaid—they have a book in one foot and a cup of coffee in the other. you see, these reverse mermaids are very crafty with your feet.

despite the fact that you exploded a hole in their wall, your presence goes unnoticed.]

the reverse-mermaid flips a page of their current book with a toe. you're still unnoticed—they're really absorbed with that book.]

[that does it—it blinks, and turns to look at you.

"...how did you get in?"]

I broke in.

[it takes a moment for the reverse mermaid to process this.

when it does, it throws the coffee cup and book to the ground.

"HOLY SHIT, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY TOWER!? MY BOOKS!"]

You're going to get coffee on that book.

[reverse mermaid looks down at the book and spilled coffee, then glares at you.

"You—this! What is going on here?!"]

[waves it off~~~~]

There was a book outside that said "help me" and "MURDER" and pointed at your tower.
