When: Day 5, bright and early in the morning
Where: Labyrinth!
What: A daring labyrinth

[you somehow land into this labyrinth with a hard thud, sending clouds of dust flying everywhere. what you're in now is a stone room that has a flickering torch placed on each wall. it smells a bit dingy in here, like what one might picture an actual labyrinth or dungeon to smell like.

there doesn't actually seem to be much worth investigating in this room, aside from a sign and three old, wooden doors before you. the sign reads:

"If you risk it all, you gain it all. If you risk nothing, you gain nothing."

somehow, very inexplicably so, you get the strange sense that the riskier you play, the better the prize.]

While it's encouraged to face danger for the better prize, your character might not be up for something and that's okay—it's not always the dangerous action that's considered the bravest, mind you.

However, if you and another player do decide that you want your characters to explore together, feel free to, JUST NOTE IT IN YOUR EXPLORATION COMMENT! If you decide halfway that you and X belatedly want your characters to be working together, I can work my official Trapdoor Magic and put characters together. Again, just mention it somewhere! Otherwise, your character will be on their own in this labyrinth, though everyone will meet up at the end.

[the door creaks loudly, opening to a hot room where someone inside is crying, screaming. the door quickly shuts behind you.

five feet before you is an enormous magma pit—the obvious source of this heat—bubbling and spewing small flames. there's a bassinet—presumably the source of the cries—dangling above this magma pit, from a rope that is slowly, but surely, fraying. however, this very rope is tied to a lever of sorts attached to the ceiling, one that surely would activate if it were tugged... but what would happen then?

there is no exit, aside from the way you came in which is surely locked by now. not only that, but it might unnerve you to find that the floor tiles constantly clatter and shift beneath your feet, as if someone laid them and never sealed them in place.

and though the room is lit and heated by this magma pit, there is also needless torch that sticks out much further than it should on one wall of the room.]

Lava—!?

[ACTION FIRST, THINKING LATER casting with his Hailstorm Rod at the magma pit, plz be useful labyrinth treasure]

[you cast a nasty hailstorm, just as prescribed, and the balls of hail spaloosh into the magma pit, creating big splashes that don't endanger the bassinet, but might land on you. furthermore, the bit of lighting that came with the hailstorm unexpectedly rattles the bassinet, making the baby cry with piercing screams unlike before

ON THE PLUS SIDE: the magma has since calmed down and is no longer spewing fire or bubbling quite as dangerously as before; it's still a pit of hot magma, but now it's rather tame.]

[ ok, let's go through to the flower door ]

[it takes some effort to push to door open, but you do manage. oddly enough, it pulls itself shut with ease. you can make out a low creaking sound as soon as you enter.

you're in a long, narrow room that is probably thirty feet long, give or take. its walls are covered with green spikes—and these walls are starting to close in on you, slowly but surely. dangling up above, several feet away, is a tiny-spiked vine—leading up to some bright, unknown area—that is low enough to grab onto.

the ground is slushy with wet moss and mud. if you aren't constantly moving, you'll notice that your feet are sinking. in fact, you can see skeleton arms sticking out from the mud, inanimate but looking as though they're reaching out for help.

however, straight on ahead, on the distant back wall of this room, is a glowing red button. but given the circumstances, would you have the time to press this?]

[ eyeing up the three doors in thought, looking a bit unnerved by the water one.

you know, residual trauma sticks for a while ]

[ WHY IS IT ALWAYS THE UNDEAD? Can't I just deal with the living? I like the living...

Luckily, with Lon'qu as his father, he has a +4 to speed, which should help him as he moves across the mud towards the button. But he hesitates once he notices that the skeleton arms are reaching out for help and not to, you know, drag him under. He keeps trying to move towards the button but at the same time tries to grab an arm and pull it out with him to see what that does. ]

[wipes magma splashes off himself with his cape and discards it, not really pausing over the burns]

[summoning two spells back-to-back: chains to wrap around the bassinet and keep it up, and a floating spell to go to it]
