When: Day 5, bright and early in the morning
Where: Labyrinth!
What: A daring labyrinth

[you somehow land into this labyrinth with a hard thud, sending clouds of dust flying everywhere. what you're in now is a stone room that has a flickering torch placed on each wall. it smells a bit dingy in here, like what one might picture an actual labyrinth or dungeon to smell like.

there doesn't actually seem to be much worth investigating in this room, aside from a sign and three old, wooden doors before you. the sign reads:

"If you risk it all, you gain it all. If you risk nothing, you gain nothing."

somehow, very inexplicably so, you get the strange sense that the riskier you play, the better the prize.]

[down the tunnel you go! and where you wind up, nobody knows.

...just kidding.

you land in the middle of a GIANT blue flower. you're now in an area brimming with life and color. the sky is a bright blue, the clouds seem fluffy, and you're surrounded by many, many other giant flowers. in the not-too-far distance you can make out a large tree.

one giant red flower has a pool of purple water. a giant yellow flower sputters thick pollen.

this all aside, over yonder there is a shrub that keeps shaking.]

[Togo is glad she kept the mask on, what with all dat pollen.

But right now? It's the bush that has her attention. She makes her smaller gun appear in one hand as she steps toward it, her 'steps' light across the large flower.]

[upon stepping closer, you can see a bright green tail of sorts sticking out from underneath the shrub... it occasionally wiggles]

[Please be a nice animal.

That is Togo's hope as she parts the bushes. If it's not nice, well, she has armor for a reason.]

[it parts to reveal a tiny, green Pikmin-like plant person, with a large leaf sticking out from the top of their head. it stares up at you with big, beady eyes. when it speaks, it sounds like a child.

but instead of speaking it screams.

"Oh no! No, please don't hurt me!"]

[Togo quickly makes the gun disappear, taking off her mask for a moment so she can speak.]

I'm sorry. I won't hurt you, I promise.

[She smiles, trying to reassure it.]

[the tiny plant person still seems cautious—trembling, even. still, it doesn't hesitate to comment.

"You look so much like them... In shape, I mean. Can you be trusted?"]

Them who?

[Togo tilts her head, confused.]

[it takes a deep breath. you can almost make out the tiny beads of sweat on this poor thing's face.

"You know... the undead. They're really... um, you're not tricking me, right?"]

[Zombies? Really? However, Togo shakes her head.]

I am not.

[She pulls off a glove, showing her hand and some of her arm.]

I'm 100 percent alive. See?

[the plant person blinks... then rubs its hands together anxiously.

"I... I suppose. I will trust you. But what are you doing here?"]

[Putting her glove back on after a moment.]

I was exploring; I found a greenhouse, and outside that was a hole. I ended up here after jumping in. But enough about me... Is there any way that I can help you?

[they're attentive, even a little curious.

"A greenhouse? What's a greenhouse? You can start by telling me what that is... please."]

Well... A greenhouse is a place specially made to help plants and flowers grow.

[Simple explanation, but it works!]

[the plant thing blinks again—and it softly giggles.

"We call those nurseries! I grew up in a nursery. But, it doesn't exist anymore... not in the way it used to. The undead took those, too, so I wonder about that greenhouse you saw... Did you see them? Did you?"]

[Togo shakes her head.]

I was the only one there. Nobody else. I saw dead fish, fish eggs, and fish bones outside, but that was it.

["—fish?! Those things are extinct! That's so scary!"]

Hm... That explains a bit...

Well, either way, I made it here. So, how else can I help you? I'll do whatever I can.

["I..."

the plant person hesitates.

"I just want to go somewhere safe. Did you come across anywhere safe?"]

[Togo thinks back.]

Not especially. However, the kingdom I came from at the start is really safe. I can take you there.

[If she can find her way out of this labyrinth; she's already looking for an exit.]

[the plant person looks uncertain.

"Kingdoms have complicated politics. I don't want any of that. I do have a pleasant flower..."

it points over to one of the random giant flowers; it's hard to say which.

"I'd miss it. Honestly, maybe instead of finding a safe place I should remove the threat... Is that bold of me?"]

It is. However, I am a Hero... Removing threats is what I do. Please, tell me more. Let me help.

[Her terminal had a full charge when she transformed; she's got a lot of juice left.]

[it gasps, looking up with wide eyes.

"A hero?! Wait... I don't know what a hero is. But if you can do something about the undead, I would be grateful..."]

A Hero is someone who helps others. Could you show me where the undead are coming from?

["Oh... I might like you, then! I think they come from that tree. They took our leader's tree to live in it..."

tiny plant person sighs wistfully.]
