Who: Everyone
When: Day 5, bright and early in the morning
Where: Labyrinth!
What: A daring labyrinth
[you somehow land into this labyrinth with a hard thud, sending clouds of dust flying everywhere. what you're in now is a stone room that has a flickering torch placed on each wall. it smells a bit dingy in here, like what one might picture an actual labyrinth or dungeon to smell like.
there doesn't actually seem to be much worth investigating in this room, aside from a sign and three old, wooden doors before you. the sign reads:
"If you risk it all, you gain it all. If you risk nothing, you gain nothing."
somehow, very inexplicably so, you get the strange sense that the riskier you play, the better the prize.]

Re: FLOWER ROOM
[Gotta keep others out of harm's way.]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
"Y-you be careful! They're scary! Their god is scary! Um, um! Please watch out!"]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
Don't worry. I'll be okay.
[Her ribbons begin to move again, allowing her to jump large distances and approach the tree quickly. She lands a few yards away from the tree and walks around it, looking for an entrance.]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
upon getting to the tree, you can a person-sized (not person-shaped) hole in the tree's trunk opening to a spiral staircase inside the tree. from this entry you can smell... apple cinnamon.]

Re: FLOWER ROOM
Re: FLOWER ROOM
there's an oven with its timer set—this is the source of that apple-cinnamon scent. there's no door on the wall of this kitchen in plain sight, but there is a small window with cute lace curtains. there's a small dining area for four off to the side, settled on top of a handwoven rug, and, of course, what is a kitchen without a fridge covered in pictures?
interestingly enough, there's also a young woman with her hair tied up and an apron on. she sees you (though it's hard to say what she sees you with—she has no eyes) and gasps.
"Oh? Who might you be? I'm making pie, if you'd like some."]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
No, thank you. I'm a... traveler. Could you, perhaps, tell me who owns this tower?
Re: FLOWER ROOM
"This would be mine. I even added all of the personal touches myself!"]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
[Togo walks into the kitchen a bit more. Yeah, okay, the woman has no tongue, but Togo is 'walking' on four ribbons that move like tentacles while her legs dangle. She really has no room to talk.]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
"Oh, yes. It's just me. There was my family.. but, well, they've been gone a while. Are you sure you wouldn't like any pie?"]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
[Togo nods, thinking. It's time to get down to brass tacks.]
What is your relation to the plant people living outside?
Re: FLOWER ROOM
"I'm afraid I don't have any relation to them... is something wrong?"]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
[Togo remains calm the whole time she is speaking.]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
—the oven dings. this woman is a bit too eager to get to the pie and fixate herself on slicing it. not long after pulling the pie out of the oven, she speaks very evenly.
"I suppose... it's because those creatures belong to the god, right? I'm sorry it took you as a threat."]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
[Togo fixes the woman with an even stare.]
As a Hero, my job is to help those who need it. Please, can you tell me what has happened here?
Re: FLOWER ROOM
and despite her harsh words, she speaks gently, but firmly. there's no intentional malice in her tone, and it sounds like she's speaking what she considers to be the truth.
"The god asked for sacrifices, and out of the kindness of his heart, he gave this house to us. I can't help that the lesser creatures out there were put aside for our god's goal."]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
Lesser creatures? There is no such thing. As for a God asking for sacrifices, did you even once stop and ask yourself if those sacrifices were worth it? What is your God's goal?
Re: FLOWER ROOM
"Our god has his own prophecy, one I don't know of, and he guides us towards the light. I dare not question his ways! We've always trusted him."]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
I trusted my god too, once. I became a Hero to serve it and protect my home. I fought monster after monster, alongside my friends. After a most vicious attack, which we barely survived, we walked away forever changed.
I lost the hearing in my left ear. My best friend lost her sense of taste. My other friend lost her sight in her left eye, and her little sister lost her voice. We were told it was temporary, but it wasn't. The monsters will keep coming. And I will have to fight. The more we fight, the more sacrifices we must make, until we are nothing more than vegetables. And then more heroes. More sacrifices. More girls forced to sacrifice all they have for a never-ending fight.
[She fixes her gaze on the woman once more.]
I don't trust my god anymore; it took the loss of an important thing for me to realize that. Look inside yourself - does nothing about what's been done feel wrong to you?
Re: FLOWER ROOM
"Nothing at all. My god acts in my favor. It sounds like your god wronged you. Please, don't take that out on me."
she ends that with a tired sigh... then smiles cheerfully, speaking in an upbeat manner.
"I never turn a guest away, but this time I will have to. You have declined my offer of pie, and you have attacked my god. Your time is up."]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
[Togo decides to end this the best way she knows how.
And that is by pulling out her smaller guns and shooting this zombie lady right in the face. At least the plant people seemed slightly sympathetic, and she had promised to take care of the undead problem, after all.]
Re: FLOWER ROOM
she falls to the ground, laying in a crumpled pile. there are no last words, probably because she believes her dragon god will help her.
he won't.
the room is silent, and it still smells like cinnamon apples.]
