When: Day 5, bright and early in the morning
Where: Labyrinth!
What: A daring labyrinth

[you somehow land into this labyrinth with a hard thud, sending clouds of dust flying everywhere. what you're in now is a stone room that has a flickering torch placed on each wall. it smells a bit dingy in here, like what one might picture an actual labyrinth or dungeon to smell like.

there doesn't actually seem to be much worth investigating in this room, aside from a sign and three old, wooden doors before you. the sign reads:

"If you risk it all, you gain it all. If you risk nothing, you gain nothing."

somehow, very inexplicably so, you get the strange sense that the riskier you play, the better the prize.]

you know. quite possibly ]

[the door opens with ease, leading you into a cool, dark room. you hear a steady, constant flow of water throughout this room, then the abrupt slam of the door shutting behind you.

your eyes adjust to the darkness, just as you begin to feel cool water on your feet. water is slowly, but steadily, filling the room from various gaps in the wall. some are small, but there is one particularly large gap that you can see light through.

the room may be flooding, but before you is what already seems to be a deep pond. there are dark, snake-like shapes swimming about this pond, occasionally leaping out of the water to snap at the air. however, you also see a bright light at the bottom of this pond, too.

most oddly yet is the muted television teetering back and forth on a rock by the pond; it's playing b&w reruns of an indistinguishable game show where people cheer about money. this tv's not plugged in, but you can see sparks flickering from it as those dark snake-like shapes leap out from the water and nearly knock it in from time to time.

in the corner of the room nearest to you, not yet pulled away by the water, is a pile of small rocks and a bucket of worms.]

[ taking as much in as he can and noticing a few things. ]

Makoto! Take those rocks and try to plug the holes.

I'm going to try to move the TV away from that pond.

[ and with that, he's going to move and try to knock the TV off the rock and away from the pond ]

[ this was a terrible, awful, very poor life choice and he's trying not to go into panic from some bad pings here, trying to take in a few breaths ]

S-Sure...

[ going for the rocks while shaking a bit, trying to focus on plug holes, plug holes, plug holes, stuffing them into the gaps ]

[sousuke: as you reach for the tv, one of the snake-like creatures leaps out from the pond and latches itself onto your arm, desperately trying to sink its tiny teeth in]

[makoto: you manage to successfully plug the holes! however, are you only going after the tinier holes, or the larger hole? for the larger hole would be much more trickier to fill with these tiny rocks.]

Shit--!

[ moving to try and grab the snake, trying to keep it form biting him ]

[ starting with the small ones, but he's dropping the rocks when he hears Sousuke's yell and immediately going over to try to prey the damn thing off of him ]

Let go!

[the snake-thing pulls off with a hard tug, but now it's screeching, flailing about to try and snap at anything it can get a hold of.

the other snake-things in the pond swarm towards the side nearest to you guys—not jumping about, but watching, studying. one could almost imagine the revenge they're plotting.]

[ tossing it back into the pond ]

[ going to grab the bucket of worms and grabs a handful to try to throw a few at them to see what they do, distressed by this, but trying to remain calm ]

[it lands in the pond. as for the other snake-things that had swarmed? they gather around the one you threw in, collectively devouring it. on top of that, assuming you still toss the worms in, they devour those, too.

but after devouring the worms, they all dart away into the walls of the pond, leaving the pond empty with but an inky cloud of red floating in the pond water]

--Maybe we should throw the TV into the pond.

But the water is still rising... Wouldn't that put us at risk, too?

Let's try to finish plugging the water first then...

[ going to the big hole to investigate it mroe ]

[ and he's looking for larger rocks for the holes... ]

[the big hole has a large amount of water flowing out from it, of course, but it's actually large enough for a person to crawl through. however, from the way the water is constantly running in strange rivets, it's not possible to make out what's on the other side.

the only large rock in this room would be the one the tv sits on]

--We might be able to crawl through this, Makoto.

[ starting to go through the hole ]

[it's cramped, but both of you can make it through.

it immediately leads you into a room that looks to be a portion of a mine. though you can hear a dripping, there's no water in here. there's no visible source as to where the water flooding the other room could have been coming from. in fact, the floor is dry.

in this room are several minecarts settled on tracks, these tracks leading into two different tunnels: a red tunnel and a green tunnel. for what it's worth, the tracks all seem to be in near mint condition.

by one of the minecarts is a human-sized reverse mermaid, loading one of the carts with many burlap bags by craftily using its feet. the bags look to be heavy and stained with red. the reverse mermaid blankly stares at the two of you as it loads its cart full of mysterious goods, cautious but preoccupied.]

[ someone is just going to be staring back at the reverse mermaid because what even... ]

[ also staring back at the reverse mermaid, again, standing between it and Makoto ]

[it's noticed that you guys have noticed it, so it repeatedly jerks its head towards the cart in a sort of "get over here" or "help me out" sort of gesture. the interpretation is yours, really.]

[ looks at Makoto

WHAT DO YOU THINK ]

[ shakes his head ]

This seems like a bad idea. Let's try something else in here.
