When: Day 5, bright and early in the morning
Where: Labyrinth!
What: A daring labyrinth

[you somehow land into this labyrinth with a hard thud, sending clouds of dust flying everywhere. what you're in now is a stone room that has a flickering torch placed on each wall. it smells a bit dingy in here, like what one might picture an actual labyrinth or dungeon to smell like.

there doesn't actually seem to be much worth investigating in this room, aside from a sign and three old, wooden doors before you. the sign reads:

"If you risk it all, you gain it all. If you risk nothing, you gain nothing."

somehow, very inexplicably so, you get the strange sense that the riskier you play, the better the prize.]

[the big hole has a large amount of water flowing out from it, of course, but it's actually large enough for a person to crawl through. however, from the way the water is constantly running in strange rivets, it's not possible to make out what's on the other side.

[ starting to go through the hole ]

[it's cramped, but both of you can make it through.

it immediately leads you into a room that looks to be a portion of a mine. though you can hear a dripping, there's no water in here. there's no visible source as to where the water flooding the other room could have been coming from. in fact, the floor is dry.

in this room are several minecarts settled on tracks, these tracks leading into two different tunnels: a red tunnel and a green tunnel. for what it's worth, the tracks all seem to be in near mint condition.

by one of the minecarts is a human-sized reverse mermaid, loading one of the carts with many burlap bags by craftily using its feet. the bags look to be heavy and stained with red. the reverse mermaid blankly stares at the two of you as it loads its cart full of mysterious goods, cautious but preoccupied.]

[ someone is just going to be staring back at the reverse mermaid because what even... ]

[ also staring back at the reverse mermaid, again, standing between it and Makoto ]

[it's noticed that you guys have noticed it, so it repeatedly jerks its head towards the cart in a sort of "get over here" or "help me out" sort of gesture. the interpretation is yours, really.]

[ looks at Makoto

WHAT DO YOU THINK ]

[ shakes his head ]

This seems like a bad idea. Let's try something else in here.

[ nods and points towards the other cart.

use that to get away? ]

[ nods in agreement, let's do that ]

[the reverse-mermaid shakes its head in disappointment, but it's letting you two be to continue doing its thing.

the cart is tight, but large enough to carry both of you, of course. it is situated by a lever that would redirect the track in order to lead you into either of the tunnels—red or green.]

I like green.

[ wonder why that is, Mr. Peridot ]

Green is a good color. Let's go with it.

[the minecart screeches into motion towards the green tunnel...

and then suddenly drops, like an intense roller coaster ride from hell's second cousin's house. bats scatter about as you soar through this tunnel, making a tight turn this way—then a tight turn that way—and whoa, are you about to shoot up into the air to leap over that stream?
