Who: Everyone
When: Day 5, bright and early in the morning
Where: Labyrinth!
What: A daring labyrinth
[you somehow land into this labyrinth with a hard thud, sending clouds of dust flying everywhere. what you're in now is a stone room that has a flickering torch placed on each wall. it smells a bit dingy in here, like what one might picture an actual labyrinth or dungeon to smell like.
there doesn't actually seem to be much worth investigating in this room, aside from a sign and three old, wooden doors before you. the sign reads:
"If you risk it all, you gain it all. If you risk nothing, you gain nothing."
somehow, very inexplicably so, you get the strange sense that the riskier you play, the better the prize.]

FIRE ROOM
five feet before you is an enormous magma pit—the obvious source of this heat—bubbling and spewing small flames. there's a bassinet—presumably the source of the cries—dangling above this magma pit, from a rope that is slowly, but surely, fraying. however, this very rope is tied to a lever of sorts attached to the ceiling, one that surely would activate if it were tugged... but what would happen then?
there is no exit, aside from the way you came in which is surely locked by now. not only that, but it might unnerve you to find that the floor tiles constantly clatter and shift beneath your feet, as if someone laid them and never sealed them in place.
and though the room is lit and heated by this magma pit, there is also a needless torch that sticks out much further than it should on one wall of the room.]
Re: FIRE ROOM
Once transformed he looks around. There's plenty of interesting stuff, but it's that precarious bassinet that needs immediate attention. It's going to fall if he doesn't act quickly, so! Rideaux braces himself against one wall, waits a few precious seconds for the rope to fray just that little bit more, and then he springs forward. Knives in hand and propelled by the power of the Chromatus, his intention is to clear the lava pit in one smooth leap, cutting the rope and safely securing the bassinet in the process.
Pretty daring, right?! Let's just hope it works...]
Re: FIRE ROOM
after you've reached the other side of this pit, it suddenly explodes straight up towards the ceiling. oddly enough, it not only shoots itself through the ceiling, creating a giant hole going up, but the pit somehow... empties itself, becoming what is now a tunnel going down.]
Re: FIRE ROOM
If that previously mentioned torch is still around, Rideaux's also going to grab it with the intention of shining it down the tunnel and trying to get some clue as to where it might lead.]
Re: FIRE ROOM
using the torch, you can see cloaked figures in a stone room down below. they're completely silent and still.]
Re: FIRE ROOM
Okay, let's try and shine the torch up through the hole instead. What's up there?]
Re: FIRE ROOM
Re: FIRE ROOM
Mystery ceiling tunnel it is. Fortunately Chromatus!Rideaux is good at ridiculous assassin's creed jumping nonsense, so heading upwards shouldn't be too difficult.
For now he's going to continue to bring the cabbage along with him. Gonna have to leave the torch behind though, don't think he can do all that clever jumping and carry both the torch and the cabbage baby...]
Re: FIRE ROOM
the room it leads to smells like cinnamon. the floor consists of dark floorboards that creak with each step. there's many aisles of shelving containing random items and junk, and the ceiling light sways and squeaks in the nonexistent breeze, forcing the shadows in the room to move about.
there's a counter in the back, past all these shelves, holding a register. an old sign hangs overhead that says "PAWN SHOP." not far off is an "EMPLOYEE'S ONLY" door.
a skeleton, sweeping one of the aisles, notices you and your cabbage baby.
"Huh... is that for me? I can take that off your hands if you'd like."]
Re: FIRE ROOM
A skeleton is, uh, not what he's used to talking to...... but hey, it's a pawn shop. That's easy enough to understand.]
Now now now, I went through a lot of trouble to get this. Shouldn't you be trying to haggle?
Re: FIRE ROOM
"Those things fetch a lot on the market these days. How much you want for it? I'll give you anything on these shelves, just not all of it. Can't run myself out of business just yet, heh!"]
Re: FIRE ROOM
What is it, anyway? An endangered species?
Re: FIRE ROOM
"You don't know? That's a joke, right?"]
Re: FIRE ROOM
I haven't been around these parts as long as you have, Bones. Flesh and blood, you know.
Re: FIRE ROOM
"Eh? You saying that isn't just a fancy 'application'? You're really some outsider?"]
Re: FIRE ROOM
Time to dodge the question!]
How can I expect you to trade me a fair deal on this little lettuce if you can't even trade me honest information? If you won't give me a straight answer I'll go find someone else to take the sprout off my hands. There were some interesting cloaked fellows back there, perhaps they'd be more cooperative...?
[And Rideaux makes a little show of consideration, toootally thinking about going back the way he came...]
Re: FIRE ROOM
"Come on, no need to be this way. Those things are valuable to our god. I know you could give them to the cloaked fellas, but whereas they'd give you nothing but their thanks, I'd give you something worth your while."]
Re: FIRE ROOM
Worth my while? All I'm seeing is junk. What little trinkets do you have for a medical professional whose life is on the line? A weapon? Some kind of tool?
Re: FIRE ROOM
the skeleton immediately starts heading towards the "EMPLOYEE'S ONLY" room]
Re: FIRE ROOM
Re: FIRE ROOM
in this Employee's Only room, there's the obvious table and seating for the employees to have their breaks at... but opposite of that is a set of shelves, containing boxes of three different sizes: small, medium, and large.
the skeleton, having already gotten one of the medium sized boxes, is pulling round objects out and setting them aside for you to see.
"Let's see... in this box, we have the bombs. Bombs, bombs, bombs. Explosives, tear gas, poison gas, light flares, firework bombs, smoke bombs..."
they each have a distinctive appearance that reflects its use. for instant, the smoke bomb looks like it's foggy. the fireworks bomb has a bright, iridescent coating. so on, and so on.]
Re: FIRE ROOM
So, just out of interest, is anyone else in this room? Any other skeletons? Any, uh, witnesses...~?]
Re: FIRE ROOM
Re: FIRE ROOM
These are bombs as well?
Re: FIRE ROOM
"Naw, the big one's chock full of some nice weapons you might be after. The smaller one's got some fancy little devices. You seemed pretty interested in the bombs, but maybe... I should show you some of those instead?"]
