When: Day 5, bright and early in the morning
Where: Labyrinth!
What: A daring labyrinth

[you somehow land into this labyrinth with a hard thud, sending clouds of dust flying everywhere. what you're in now is a stone room that has a flickering torch placed on each wall. it smells a bit dingy in here, like what one might picture an actual labyrinth or dungeon to smell like.

there doesn't actually seem to be much worth investigating in this room, aside from a sign and three old, wooden doors before you. the sign reads:

"If you risk it all, you gain it all. If you risk nothing, you gain nothing."

somehow, very inexplicably so, you get the strange sense that the riskier you play, the better the prize.]

Ah, well, she does now

["Really? Aww. Can you tell me what it takes to become a hero?"

Horris leans forward. meanwhile, the skeleton referred to as Ma starts tapping her foot... not that any of the skeletons care about that development at all at this point.]

Ah, yes, I am more than willing to share my expertise when it comes to becoming a hero worthy of legend!

[ if someone doesn' stop them, this'll become a 30 hour conversation that includes a chapter on LARPing ]

[you know what, this conversation can totally go on for a while. Horris is ~all ears~ because he loves heroes, HE IS PUMPED!

but eventually the woman from before, the one who this kitchen belongs to, interrupts.

"Excuse me... I've been wondering for a while. Scion—Owain, was it? Do you know these people?"]

Oh, my apologies, fair lady, but these are... er, fellows that I met earlier on my journey!

[all but one skeleton nod.

"Is that so? They seem very... familiar. Ma, Horris, hero idolization... it all sounds very familiar..."]

Oh, does it? In what way?

["Well. It sounds like... my family!"

the skeletons don't react]

[ looks between the woman and the skeletons

FAMILY RESEMBLANCE IS THERE ONE? ]

[the woman is totally missing her eyes, and a tongue. so are the skeletons!]

[ that's quite a family trait ]

[ to the skeletons ] Are you this fair lady's relatives that have been missing for quite some time?

[...the skeletons nod. it's Ma who speaks up.

"Yeah, we are. It's been a couple weeks—we didn't mean to be gone that long. It was the mud's fault, okay?"]

I can verify that the mud was indeed a major hindrance .

[the skeletons nod, again, this time very eagerly with additional comments of 'That's right!' and 'He knows!'

the woman blinks... suddenly she's hit with the realization.

"—oh! You might really be my family! You guys... look very different without your skin, is all."]

Er... not having skin could very much affect someone's appearance...

[Ma speaks. "Right? It's not our fault it fell off, that's how unfair this whole thing i—"

she then gets a harsh elbowing from one of the other skeletons. they're tired of this.

the woman chuckles, and smiles brightly.

"That sure sounds like Ma. Then, I suppose I should say... welcome home!"

next thing you know, they're all in a group embrace—it's kind of like one of those super cheesy scenes from those straight to VHS movies.]

[ THIS IS SO HEARTWARMING

familyyyyyy ]

[isn't it just.

they eventually pull apart, and all turn to you. the woman is tearing up.

"Thank you for doing whatever you did that brought my family back to me. And to think, you had already offered to go find them for me..."

she sniffles, continuing.

"I know you refused before, but—I have to repay you." her hands tremble. "I'm overwhelmed with joy. I really thought I lost them..."]

As I mentioned before, seeing the joy on your face is reward enough!

["That's kind. But... Are you sure? You technically saved me from that oven demon, too—"

Horris interjects, staring at you with wide ey—okay, crap, he's a skeleton, he doesn't have ANY eyes, but he is staring at you intensely. he sounds excited though!

"You what...?!"]

An oven demon was nothing compared to the dragon I faced back home.

[you've earned yourself a collective GASP from the entire room. Horris hesitates.

"You... fought a god?"]

I have.

[more gasping ensues. one of the less noteworthy skeletons nearly faints.

"Wh—How come?!"]

In my world, the Fell Dragon Grima had plunged the world into darkness and ruin. The only choice available to my comrades and I were to return to the past and prevent Grima from taking over. Together, with our parents, we fought against the Fell Dragon and watched as Grima's Avatar struck the final blow, so that the world may be a better place.
