When: Day 5, bright and early in the morning
Where: Labyrinth!
What: A daring labyrinth

[you somehow land into this labyrinth with a hard thud, sending clouds of dust flying everywhere. what you're in now is a stone room that has a flickering torch placed on each wall. it smells a bit dingy in here, like what one might picture an actual labyrinth or dungeon to smell like.

there doesn't actually seem to be much worth investigating in this room, aside from a sign and three old, wooden doors before you. the sign reads:

"If you risk it all, you gain it all. If you risk nothing, you gain nothing."

somehow, very inexplicably so, you get the strange sense that the riskier you play, the better the prize.]

[ UNSURE... looks to Yuu to discern his reaction. ]

[ ALSO REALLY UNSURE.

Taking Mika along with him to investigate the magazine rack? Anything abnormal about these? The cloaked figure can come next... ]

[the rack contains numerous magazines revolving around skincare. they boast moisturizing techniques, what to do when you get a rash, the best method of keeping a tan, and so on. on the covers are pictures of very normal looking people.]

... shall we wait, Yuu-chan?

I wouldn't.

[ tugging him towards the hallway. surely we can ignore this cloaked figure, right...? ]

[the cloaked figure taps the plastic window in an attempt to get your attention.

"Are you boys here for that 34 o'clock appointment? You're late."]

... sorry. We'll head right in.

[ LYING MC POKERFACE ]

[ Giving Mika an incredulous look, but.....going along with it. ]

["It's the first door on your left."

they say that, but it's the ONLY door in this hallway—at the end of the hall is just your standard cleaning supplies since they don't seem to actually have a broom closet of sorts.

again, this room also reflects the kind you'd find in a doctor's office. there's a bench for sitting, a table with various medical things on it... and there's a cloaked figure sitting on the stool, writing on their clipboard with their back turned to yuu both—so they don't notice yuu guys just yet.]

[ Well. Since there isn't much choice here...!

Mika knocks on the door to get the cloaked figure's attention. ]

[ Yuu is staying alert when Mika knocks on the door. He's ready just in case. Code for he will fight this fucker probably... ]

[at that knock, the cloaked figure turns to face yuu guys. they have a head mirror on their head.

"Oh," the figure begins as they tap their shadowed chin thoughtfully with the pencil. "Hello there. I thought I was taking care of someone who needed an application... but is this a check-up on the current progress?"]

That's right. I brought Yuu-chan here for support.

[ Nodding along with it. But will also scold Mika later for trying to sacrifice himself here. ]

["Well then! You have a good friend there. Go ahead, take a seat."

the cloaked doctor uses their head to gesture towards the bench and marks something off on their clipboard.

"So when did you get the application done? It looks nicely done."]

[ Mika has a sneaking suspicion he knows what this is about. He takes a seat on the bench! ]

A month ago.

[ Yuu is a VERY GOOD FRIEND, and is still adamantly holding Mika's hand. Because. He can. No sign of letting go. ]

[the cloaked doctor checks off another thing on their clipboard.

"I see. Can you recall the location of the seam?"]

[ YYYEAH THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT MIKA THOUGHT... but he'll roll with this. He's encountered more terrible. ]

I'm afraid not. Is that a problem?

[ There is a moment where Yuu wonders if they should just Go. Observing this still though. ]

["I'd just like to make sure it hasn't come undone. Some practitioners don't adhere the skin properly."

the cloaked doctor sets their clipboard down and hovers their hand over the table full of medical supplies.

"Stitches can be too harsh on the skin, sometimes tugging it more than it should. A skin-safe gel can 'unstick' all too easily. Things like that is all."]

I haven't noticed any problems.

[ Then, after a beat, ]

Have you, Yuu-chan?

[ Shaking his head. ]

I haven't noticed any problems either.

["Is that so." the cloaked doctor idly picks up a scalpel, not moving from their spot by the table.

"May I ask why you scheduled an appointment with me? Just so we can clarify what I can help you with today."]

It was more for my ease of mind.
