[ That sure is a new arrival stepping off the boat... she looks just a little bit frazzled, somehow? Definitely frazzled, like she's been through some pretty rough stuff, and that confetti and cheering is more than a little bit overwhelming...

Anyway, she can be found pretty much anywhere once she steps off the boat. Though she's tired, she's still interested in the town. And the people, of course. ]

[ Echo's going around town, wearing an apron with a silly cartoon rose on it, trying to hand out freshly(?) cut flowers. With an expression as dull as this, it's hard to say she's really enjoying it... but she's not complaining either.

Of course, she's quick to try and shove a tulip towards Aqua as soon as she sees her, speaking up in a monotonous voice. ]

Excuse me. Flowers for sale.

[prismbloom]

[ oh well okay then! Not what she's expecting first off the boat. She can't exactly deny her... but-- ]

I'm afraid I don't have any money at the moment.

[existonance]

No money...

[ she blinks—then lowers her Tulip Hand. that's right, this must mean... ]

Are you new or just poor?

[prismbloom]

I've only just arrived, not too long ago.

[existonance]

I see...

[ It's hard to stay unsettled around this girl, she's realizing... even if she's just come from almost literal hell. ]

Thank you. My name is Aqua.

[existonance]

Aqua. Nice to meet you.

[ She bows, a little difficult given that she has an armful of flowers, but oh well, the attempt is made without damaging any flowers. ]

Do you need any assistance? Assisting people is not Echo's job, but she can do that much.

It's nice to meet you, too.

[ Aqua's got an outstretched hand, just in case some of those flowers do fall. It's a weary gesture, but she can't help herself. ]

Oh, that would be wonderful. Thank you. There's an inn here, isn't there?

[ You must care about flowers... ]

Yes. It is called The Dolph-Inn. Echo can lead you there. It is not far.

[prismbloom]

[ It does remind her of someone else, that's true... ]

The Dolph-Inn... [ huh. Cute name. ] Please do.

[existonance]

[ She nods, almost mechanically. ]

Right this way.

[ aaand she begins leading her towards The Dolph-Inn, but before they get there— ]

Have you found a job yet?

[ Aqua follows, taking stock of her surroundings. It's... definitely a different place than she's used to. ]

Not yet, no, but I will as soon as I can. The Queen told me that several are available, but I'm not sure what to choose.

[existonance]

Flower Shop, Bakery, Clinic, Weapon Shop, Boutique, Garrison.

[glorious]

[Van watches the new arrival for a moment...then falls a little further back from the crowd, waiting for his new frazzled 'coworker' to make her way through before greeting her.]

Hello, ma'am. I assume you're here to help with the labyrinth situation?

[prismbloom]

[ Aqua stops, nodding. He certainly cuts an impressive figure, she has to admit. ]

I am. I've only just arrived. [ Cue picking a bit of confetti off her shoulder. ] ... As I'm sure you could tell.

The celebration did help clue me in.

My name is Van Grants, and I'm one of the people you'll be working with in the Labyrinths. It's a pleasure to meet you.

[prismbloom]

It isn't exactly subtle, [ she admits with a nod. ]

My name is Aqua. It's wonderful to meet you, too, Van. How long have you been bere?

I was brought here along with the first group ten days ago.

[prismbloom]

So not much longer than I... Do you have any advice for a newcomer?

[glorious]

"Be prepared for anything" would be the most accurate advice I could give, but perhaps not the most immediately helpful...Each Labyrinth has proven to be significantly different than the last, so I don't have any better advice than that I'm afraid.

[prismbloom]

No, it's helpful nonetheless. [ Not that she needs to be reminded to be prepared for anything but!! ] What sort of labyrinths have you engaged in?

[glorious]

I have in a labyrinth that required me to navigate a delicate matter of war that required some exploration of the area, another that had me complete a series of harmless challenges with a group, and another still that gave me something called a 'bingo card' and had me fill it through social tasks.

There's quite a bit of variety, in my experience.

[prismbloom]

[ Bingo card... ]

I have to admit... that's not exactly what I was expecting.

[glorious]

Truth be told, it wasn't anything I was expecting either.

I imagine the others have seen even more different labyrinths than I have.

[prismbloom]

I imagine if the Queen has been doing this for a while, that's only natural.

[ a pause. ]

I have a feeling most of the labyrinths won't be nearly as benign, though.
