[Today there is no labyrinth, and many of you may be taking this chance to explore the town some more, enjoying the new lake, or simply settling in for a nap on one of the new grassy patches of tier 2 (though you may find that there's some competition for the especially green and comfy patch). It's certainly is nice to have a day off, isn't it?]

[This denizen is standing outside the prison, just in case you forgot that existed. Isn't it simply grand that those of the garrison are required to remind you for the existence of law-enforcement every now and then?]

[It doesn't seem like a grand job to actually do though, if Van looking utterly bored out of his mind is anything to go by.]

I can't believe that this is a required task when the prison is empty today.

[At least you aren't the only garrison employee stuck here?]

Maybe they're concerned about squatters or something.

...Can't guess why someone would want to sneak into an empty prison, though.

I can see a few bored teenagers thinking it would add some excitement to their lives, but if anyone is willingly going into an empty prison to squat there longterm than I would think that's a sign of greater problems.

Well, we've got monsters that wander around at night if the boss was right. Chances are, most people can't fight them, so it makes sense to try to hide some place. Though a jail definitely wouldn't be the first choice normally.

[glancing back at the prison]

It's fairly well fortified so I imagine for some people, prison is a preferable alternative to monsters.

[Hm... Thinking about that a bit, and...]

...That's true, yeah. It doesn't seem like there's anything powerful enough to do any real damage to something fortified like this yet, either. Still, it probably wouldn't hurt to see what's actually out there. All I really know so far is that they only come out when it's dark, myself.

And at that point, if the prison isn't in use it may be best to let it be used as a temporary safehouse in cases where someone is unable to go home for whatever reason.

But what if someone tries to break into the prison?

...I suppose there is that. There'd need to be someone to swing the door closed after them.
