Who: You, you, and you!
When: Day 1, evening
Where: Outside of town, a ways over there
What: A labyrinth in the form of a social bingo!

[later that day you hear that obnoxious horn sound, the one that would be sounded when they discovered a labyrinth. you follow this sound past the town and wind up at a set of stairs leading into the the ground. by these stairs is a sign reading HEAD ON IN. though you might normally be inclined to dilly dally, you're inexplicably drawn to walk down those stairs...]

[the stairs leading down to this "labyrinth" are absolutely grandeur. when you reach the foot of the steps, you become dressed to the nines in some kind of formal wear, like what you'd wear to a fancy ball... which would explain the room before you: you've stepped into a large ballroom. ballad music plays, tables line the wall, and is that a complimentary buffet table next to the wet bar? on the far back wall of this space are a pair of double doors, settled underneath an inaccessible balcony.]

My, my, my, my, m~y!

[a voice rings out from above—and an indistinguishable figure appears on that balcony, looking down at you with a hungry grin; their low voice is upbeat, but oddly smooth]

I've never had guests before! Oh, but you weren't invited... Tsk, tsk! Why, a bunch like you look like you could cause me problems... How troublesome! Oh, troublesome indeed! Still, unlike that royal kindergartener, I am actually kind enough to throw you a party! She didn't do that for you, now, did she? Hahahaha!

[they're still laughing when a bingo card materializes in your hand. between their laughter and constant chatter, they don't seem to be giving you much room to say anything. when their laughter stops, they speak again, their voice taking on a grisly tone]

If I'm going down, I want entertainment, you hear me? And there's only one way I want to go... Do you know BINGO? Must I spell it? Remind you that it's his NAME-O? Ha! You must do what you can to complete a row, or two rows, or the WHOLE CARD! If you do well, you'll earn more than just my dear palace's erasure...!

[they laugh, their laughter growing louder by the second, resonating through the spacious room—then it abruptly stops. just as quickly as that "person" appeared, they disappear, leaving behind nothing but a cloud of black smoke that quickly dissipates into thin air]

[Dressed in his usual trim & flamboyant manner, Rideaux and his bingo card are waiting for ~~victims~~ friendly conversation partners near the buffet table. Everyone has to eat, after all. Why waste too much time walking around when he can just wait for people to come to him?]

[Choices, choices. To punch or not to punch, that is the question.]

Either way he's going to try! Aiming for the face because he's just that unpleasant of a person.]

[blocks with his plate, letting the food spill]

What's that for!?

[That's probably one cracked or broken plate then! What a tragic waste of good food, too.]

Nothing personal, kid.

[It totally is personal. Rideaux waves his bingo card by way of explanation and then takes another swing. He's the worst, I'm sorry.]

Liar, the card doesn't say to punch like that!

[keeps hold of the broken plate, hiding behind the pieces. sharp, broken edges out towards any incoming FISTS]

How else would you?

[Those plate shards do slow him down a bit though—leather gloves are, alas, no match for shattered crockery.]

Not in the face, for starters!

Well, you know what they say. If you're going to do something, you might as well do it right.

[But the kid is right—any punch will do. Rideaux feints high and then tries for a lower blow, hoping a quick jab might get through.]

[yelps and startles away, the punch juuuuust catching him in the side]

[... you know what, that'll do. Straightens up, pulls out his bingo card and stamps off the 'punch someone' square.]

There now. Was that really so hard?

Tsk.

[oh this girl does approach him, looking humiliated and annoyed as she sticks her hand out]

Dance.

Or insulted.

[... oh joy. But he takes her hand, and dips at the knee in a mocking sort of curtsey—looks like it's going to be the dance!]

How convenient of you to offer.

[He's, uh, sort of elegant in a horrific sort of way, but I'm not sure that really translates well to dancing. Have fun!]

[she's taken aback, and her red face is that of irritation; is this how people dance? is it a challenge? WELL IT IS NOW, she's not one to be one-upped, you see, so this strong girl eventually yanks him close when she gets the chance and attempts to flip him over her back, as awkward as that attempt might wind up]

[WELL OKAY THEN, that's a gangly flail of surprised limbs flipping over her back! Miraculously he does manage to stay on his feet, but sharply pulls away before any more elaborate stunts can be attempted. And he doesn't look at all impressed.]

Try that again, little girl, and I just might make you regret it.

[Growl growl fluster, that was actually pretty embarrassing.]

[She pompously dusts her hands off before placing them firmly on her hips]

If competition, would have lost.

[...it's not clear whether she's talking about him in particular, or themselves as a dancing pair.]
