[someone wearing a trench coat, a baseball cap, thick coke-bottle glasses, and knee-high polka-dotted rainboots, approaches you. sketchy, right? also horrendous, i mean, you can't make this outfit look good.

maybe you were still getting a feel for the town, or you're getting a knock on your door at the inn, or maybe you're not even IN town when this person finds you! it's hard to make out who they are from their ridiculous disguise, but their enlarged eyes (thanks to the coke-bottle glasses) seem to familiarly reflect galaxies...]

Well, well. We—I have been looking forward to getting a proper one-on-one with you! The council was a struggle to escape, but I hope they'll let bygones be bygones when they've figured out my trick. It's not like this is the first time!

[she laughs—] Ahem! [—then outstretches her weird trench-coated arms in greeting]

Haha! I hope you don't consider the sea a nice place from here. Oh, you should have seen it before! I came out here on a vacation before it got too bad—it was almost paradise!

Yeah. I grew up on the West Coast of the continent I lived on. It's... very big and blue. Except when it's cloudy or foggy, then it's sort of grey. And it smells like... like salt, and fish and seaweed.

I see... ours has been grey and dull for however many years now! There haven't been any reports of living things swimming around in it for quite some time now. So be careful around it, is what I'm getting at here! Looking or swimming, we can't predict it right now.

Yeah, I suppose I am. Mostly history and theology and language, but I don't mind reading other things.
