When: Day 1, early morning but not so early that you'd encounter monsters from last night

What: You have arrived to the kingdom!

[you weren't sailing that treacherous sea for long--in fact, the ride seemed surprisingly swift, if not potentially sickening. but here you are now, standing in the port of Port Perplex, unloading yourself and your belongings as the old ship sounds its obnoxious horn for the seventh time. and, well, come to think of it, you're not the ONLY one getting off the ship!

on land, you and the others are bombarded by a crowd of cheering townsfolk! they throw confetti over you, try to drape flower neklaces around your neck, and also blast horns PROBABLY RIGHT IN YOUR EAR, ow.]

"Who are these people? Oh... OH! They're here to help us!"

"Thank you! Thank you!"

"Please, have some petals. You like petals, yes?"

"IS MY HORN TOO LOUD FOR YA? WHAT? WHAT DIDJA SAY?"

[...anyway, it doesn't take long for them to disperse and leave you be, assuming you aren't getting caught up in their antics. should you explore further into the town, past the harbor, you'll find that the colorful town looks like it's on the brink of a festival--banners, streamers, bunting, balloons... they're everywhere! is it because of you? one might wonder, but you'll come to find that the town will always look like this from here on out. on the contrary, the beach/cliff area surrounding this little town leaves a LOT to be desired.

the Queen said you'd get a room of your own at the inn if you got a part-time job. well, the Dolph-Inn's visible in the distance. in an act of kindness, the innkeeper will gladly allow you to keep any of your stuff in a room until you get a job! however, should you return jobless by nightfall, the innkeeper will just as gladly toss your belongings onto the street and shove a cardboard box into your arms. yikes.

[ If anything, Jean is used to men of his stature addressing her so she doesn't seem to sweat the idea of speaking honestly with a stranger. ]

Aren't you? [ Maybe not so honest as she answers a question with another in return, but she means well. Probably. ]

[ Madoka has been both embarrassed by, and basking in the attention from the crowds. Being a cute, friendly girl has its perks, and by the time the streets are empty enough to really move, she's got a flower-crown on her head and an armful of flowers and festival trinkets meant to be handed out. She can't say no to hand-outs.

She struggles with her bags and her goods as she makes her way down the streets, occasionally dropping something, then kneeling down to pick it up only to drop something else. Right in your way, if you're headed to the inn. ]

Oh! Oh, I'm sorry!

[1. Town] [The festivities are a little much but it's nothing Kohaku hasn't dealt with before. They're honoured guests in this town, so it's to be expected really. He's still going to duck the crowd as soon as he can.]

[He doesn't quite smile when he sees you doing the same, but he seems friendly enough, gesturing to your floral garland.] I see they got you too.

[2. Dolph-Inn!] [He barely has any stuff on him, but he still stops by the inn first thing. A little distracted by the day's events, he doesn't think to knock before entering- oops, it looks like this is your room. He blinks, nonplussed, instead of hustling out of there. Hello neighbor?]

[He considers not offering, he really does, but they're even walking the same way...] Do you need a hand?

[He's quick to yank off the flower necklace once the crowd has dispersed, making a face. But instead of throwing it down to the ground like it seems like he wants to, he just quietly pockets it instead as he makes his way through the town.

In fact, it's entirely possible you may see him standing outside the clinic, sizing it up thoughtfully.]

I would love help if you don't mind, but... [ She sort of... Examines all of these things she's been gifted. They're all super unnecessary. But at the same time, it would be rude not to have taken them. ]

It's really my own fault.

[That gives Van cause to raise an eyebrow, but he easily laughs it off. He can appreciate those able to throw questions back at him; if only because it makes for a memorable first impression. He won't be finding himself struggling to remember this woman later, that's for certain.]

I am, actually. I wanted to try and meet everyone I'd be working with, before we're called in to deal with mazes and monsters.

[It kind of is. Instead of saying so, he's going to ~~think it loudly~~ just... stack about half in his arms.] They're persistent, aren't they? Maybe you can brighten up your room with these.

[Several rooms. How much brightening does a room really need?]

Well, maybe he won't mind if she carries it with her and uses it as an excuse to introduce herself to the others. If he does? It's not as if he has to know. ]

Oh yeah! I totally spaced out there on giving my name in return, didn't I?

I hope so! I was thinking it'll be so strange to be in a room without all my things, but this'll cheer my right up.

[ She gives as much of a bow as she can without dropping anything. ] Thank you, I appreciate it very much. Are you one of the recruits for the labyrinths too?

[Van bites his tongue to keep from laughing. She already seemed flustered enough without him laughing about the matter; and he has little intention of making her feel mocked.]

You did, but you don't need to share a name if you don't wish to. It'll simply be easier to work with someone when I know what to call them.

I am. I remember seeing you on the ship. [You had a ~vibe~] I'm Kohaku, by the way.

[Van will be stopping by the clinic himself to look it over himself, though seeing another recent arrival will give him pause.]

Have you found a job already?

No way, it's nothing like that! [ It's just weird to be in a dimension where no one knows who she is.

Weird and a bit relaxing. ] I'm Jean.

I'm Madoka Kaname. [ Oh, but he only gave one name... ] Just Madoka is fine, though, since we'll be working together.

[This girl just looks super frazzled about the whole thing, herself. How do you even deal with all these people being... friendly and outgoing? Where are all the people in body-covering clothes and huge masks that never talk? Either way, by the time it's over her hair is covered in confetti, she's wearing several flower necklaces, and her ears are ringing.]

Aren't you carrying way too much? If you're going to just take whatever's been given to you, shouldn't you at least pack it away into some of those bags you're carrying?
