[After that last labyrinth, all the heavy conversations he had to have to regain his ear and his sister's arrival, Van wanted to do something that was both relaxing enough to wind down yet productive enough to keep his mind from wandering.]

[...Which is why he can now be seen wearing a t-shirt and swimming trunks on the beach, hard at work on what looks like the starting foundation of a sandcastle. Oddly, he seems to keep his back towards the water, only glancing in that direction if he must...He also has a pile of seashells next to him and seems to be listening to each one before setting them aside.]

No, not that one...That one won't do either...

There's a sandcastle contest of sorts underway, so I thought I may as well try and put in an entry before it ends.

Ooh, good luck! Any experience?

Some, though it was a long time ago. My skills are rusty but I seem to be remembering it well enough.

[glancing over at plant toddler]

Are they participating as well?

We're going to make one, but we're working on a small scale.

I think that's more than understandable. It's usually best to start small and then build your way up, in any endeavor.

It's his first sandcastle.

I see! Do you think he'll be in need of any help?

Hmmm, he might! He has very small hands.

[looking over plant toddler's hands...are they smaller than normal toddler hands?]

[plantbaby is about knee-high, so yes tiny tiny toddler hands]

...They may have some smaller-sized tools for him to borrow.

What about a soup spoon? Or a ladle?

...I'm not sure that they have those, but neither should be difficult to find.

I'm sure we can find a baking set somewhere.

Perhaps the inn would be willing to lend a spoon for a good cause.

The innkeeper felt it was a good cause, though we're expected to clean them once we're done.
