What: vomit. VOMIT EVERYWHERE because some people are no good at boats.

[ Some people like Sam, who have never set foot on a boat let alone been on one over water. The rocking motion had been bad enough, but that combined with the salty brine of the sea and the sound of waves (why, why did there have to be so much water??) just totally wrecks him.

The moment the plank's set down and the confetti starts and the cheering begins Sam...runs past everyone else in the crowd, finds the nearest barrel or other trash-looking receptical....and throws up. Like, a lot. His breakfast, his lunch, even his dinner from the night previous.

And when he lifts his head he is just all sorts of green in the face, pale and sweating. Sam takes it back, he wants to go back to the end of the world. He doesn't want to see this muh open water ever again. ]

N...n-no more w-water..... [ Sam groans, shaking his head--which turns out to be a bad idea, because a second later he's missing the barrel entirely and vomiting right in front of his own shoes. ]

Also hi Sam you might recognize Mika? When you're not busy hurling. But right now he has red eyes instead of blue. Huh! ]

Yuu're so mean.... [ Clearly Sam isn't dying if he can still crack a pun while he's gagging, but yes. He is still miserable. ]

[ it's true that it's hard to notice much when you are worshipping the barrel gods. It takes a couple of heaves and Sam just giving up on life and flopping against the barrel before he looks up, spies Mika.....

And then turns a paler green as he heaves into the barrel once more. What is Mika doing here?? ]

[ Is that...the sound of a voice he hears?? A female voice? Those have been so far and few between in Sam's life that he literally just lifts his head and stares--until the need to hurl hits him again and he quickly turns his head down so he can puke. ]

[WELL that's all the encouragement she needs to dash off and grab a glass of water to bring back]

Th-the boat ride is rough, huh...!

[ ... that is not an unexpected reaction, but a rare one since most humans have no idea what a vampire is here. It's so unexpected that it just gives Mika enough pause to stare. ]

[ All these girls, man. It's like Sam has died and gone to heaven or something. If heaven involved losing evey meal you'd eaten in the last 24 hours. He'd obsess over that fact too, if it weren't for the over tidbit Shinoa brings up: ]

[ Sam unfortunately knows exactly what he is--he still has the nightmares to prove it, although now they also kind of include Henry liquefying people for fun. He's probably lucky the Mika he knows wished so desperately for him to be normal that he doesn't have any bite marks or scarring--not like he will with the bandage wrapped around his left wrist, where he'd been bitten by Rayflo prior to his arrival.

But that's not what he's worried about right now. What he needs to do is not look like he's about to die as he raises his head, eyes sunken and piped pale. ]
